Welcome to our 4th grade team website!
Ms. Alyssa Johnson(4th grade teacher):
Ms. Melody Moore (4th grade teacher):
Introducing ME... Melody Moore, one of the three Partnership 4th grade teachers!! Starting in October 2001, Partnership is where my official teaching career began, and I have been teaching 4th grade since July 2002...it's my favorite age level and grade! When I'm not teaching, or at home still thinking about my precious students, I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my amazingly beautiful friends and family!! Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention another one of my favorite things to do! I absolutely love spending Saturdays in the late summer and early fall cheering on the awesome, championship winning Rams of my illustrious alma mater, WSSU, and spending several days a week watching NFL, especially my Dallas Cowboys...RESPECT THE STAR :-) I'm definitely looking forward to a SUPER, adventurous, fun-filled year of learning and growing this fantastic new group of darlings!

Reading: This quarter we will focus on Social Issues within texts. Students will be integrating knowledge from various texts concerning social issues. Our objectives include connecting and comparing themes, integrating information from various texts, and referring to details in the text when answering explicit and inferring questions. We will also begin to study testing as a genre. We will discuss how you read a text differently during a testing situation. We will learn how to attack texts, define unfamiliar words and explain how the author uses evidence to prove his/her point.
Writing: Our writing this quarter will focus on using your opinions to persuade others. Students will use reasoning and evidence to support their own opinions. We will continue to work on revising and editing our writing, as well as providing sound evidence, transition words and strong conclusions. In addition, we will be focusing on word choice and phrasing within our essays.
Math: This quarter revolves around around decimals, geometry and measurement. We will begin by devling into decimals and their relationships to fractions and money.
